The Vale Crematorium shortlisted for top title

The Vale Crematorium could soon be named the best in the country after being shortlisted as a finalist in the prestigious Good Funeral Awards.

The awards are run by the Association of Green Funeral Directors to recognise and celebrate excellence, dedication and innovation.

The Vale Crematorium is part of Westerleigh Group, one of the UK’s largest independent owners and operators of crematoria and cemeteries, with 42 sites in England, Scotland and Wales, and which is trusted by more families than any other provider to deliver funerals for their loved ones.

All Westerleigh's locations are set within beautifully landscaped gardens of remembrance which provide peaceful places for people to visit and reflect, while benefitting from exceptional care and support from its teams.

The winner of this, and 23 other awards celebrating the highest standards in the sector, will be announced at an event in Berkshire in October.

The Vale is one of four finalists chosen from 18 crematoria which were nominated for the award, including several others from Westerleigh Group.

Debbie Smith, CEO of Westerleigh Group, said: “We strive to provide exceptional levels of care and service in everything we do for the families we support.

“To be shortlisted for such a prestigious award is an endorsement of that and a formal recognition that we operate to extremely high standards.

“It’s a huge credit to the professional and dedicated team at the crematorium, who are all truly passionate about what they do.

“Whether they win the Crematorium of the Year title or not, they should all feel extremely proud to have been shortlisted, as we are proud of them.

“I would like to congratulate everyone at The Vale Crematorium for this achievement and wish to thank our industry partners for making this nomination.”
