Charity afternoon tea to be held at picturesque Bristol venue
A special charity fundraiser is being held at a picturesque Bristol venue to raise money and awareness for breast cancer.
The Afternoon Tea event will take place on Saturday 3 October at Bristol Memorial Woodlands as part of Breast Cancer Awareness month, with all funds raised going to charity Breast Cancer Now.
With teas, coffees, cakes and sweet treats available to enjoy for a small donation, the afternoon is open to everyone and will run from 11am-3pm, allowing guests to drop in at their convenience.
Bristol Memorial Woodlands is set within 100-acres and provides a tranquil and beautiful setting for guests, who will also have the chance to wander around the meadows and woodlands.
Becks, hospitality manager at Bristol Memorial Woodlands, said: “Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK, accounting for 15% of all new cancer cases. In females there are around 59,000 new cases every year.
“I think if you haven't already had a scare yourself, someone close to you probably has. I've had some close friends survive it and one friend is in the middle of treatment.
“Here at Memorial Woodlands we help families who have lost someone to cancer regularly so wanted to do something that would help raise some funds but also bring people together to reflect."
Located near Thornbury, and close to the M4 / M5 junction, Bristol Memorial Woodlands is a resting place that offers a unique approach to funerals and memorial events. A place where nature is flourishing, the woodlands are open daily to the public to enjoy.
Becks added: “Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is also known as Pink October, is an annual campaign held throughout October to promote early screening, educate on risk factors and raise funds for research.
“We’ll be holding a raffle for a small cost with some lovely small prizes available. We’re really looking forward to welcoming lots of people from across the area to not only enjoy the space, but meet new people and stand together against cancer."
