Last chance to walk to remember
The St Peter’s Hospice Walk to Remember returns for the last time on Sunday 5 October.
The much-loved charity walk, which has raised more than £317,000 for Bristol’s only adult hospice over the past 20 years, sees supporters walk 5km through Ashton Court Estate to remember loved ones.
Along the route, walkers will be able to write and hang a memory tag on the charity’s Memory Tree as a way of remembering someone special.
“Since 2005, Walk to Remember has been a highlight of our calendar,” said Molly O'Donoghue, St Peter’s Hospice Events Fundraising Manager.
“Our incredible walkers have helped us raise over £317,000 for the Hospice over that time and thousands have walked with us and hung memory tags in honour of loved ones.
“It's an event that means a lot to us. Every penny raised helps us continue to be there for local patients and families, today, tomorrow and in the future.”
This year marks the final Walk to Remember in its current form.
“While we say farewell to this chapter, we look forward to exploring new ways to help our community remember those they've lost,” added Molly.
“Thank you for being part of this incredible journey, and we hope you can join us for a final time.”
All ages are welcome, and dogs can join too. Registration opens at 9.30am, with the walk starting at 10.30am. Tickets are £10 for adults and £5 for under 16s, with children under three free. To sign up visit: stpetershospice.org/WalkToRemember.
