"Try" the Rugby March for St Peter's Hospice

Registration is now open for St Peter’s Hospice’s annual Rugby March on Saturday 9 May, giving fundraisers the chance to tackle a 5km or 10km walk before taking their seats to watch the Bristol Bears take on Saracens at Ashton Gate stadium.

The event, which passes some of Bristol’s most scenic landmarks, including Clifton Suspension Bridge, Leigh Woods and Ashton Court Estate, includes a 5km route designed to be accessible for wheelchairs, buggies and younger walkers.

Caitlin Logan, Events Fundraising Manager at St Peter’s Hospice, said: “It’s fantastic to team up with Bristol Bears once again as this event is one of our most popular. Last year, more than 600 rugby fans and hospice supporters marched with us and helped raise over £40,000 to support hospice care. We’d love to raise even more this year!

"The Rugby March brings together walking, fundraising and rugby in one unforgettable day. Every step helps local families, and the event is the perfect way to celebrate that support.”

The walk will start and finish at Ashton Gate Stadium, with participants asked to arrive from 1pm for registration.

The walk itself begins at 2pm and will be followed by the Bristol Bears vs Saracens match, kicking off at 5:30pm.

There are adult and child tickets available which include entry to the walk and the rugby match, or people can opt to just take part in the walk.

Early registrations before 1 April using the code SIGNMEUP26 receive a £5 early bird discount.

St Peter’s Hospice is Bristol’s only adult Hospice and all care is provided to patients and their families free of charge. In order to continue supporting people in their hardest times, the charity relies on gifts in wills, donations, fundraising and money raised through its retail shops.

Walkers can register individually or as part of a group with friends, family or colleagues. Visit St Peter’s – Rugby March to sign up.
