Temperance House welcomes the public with a programme of events celebrating its new chapter
Temperance House in Wraxall is opening its doors to the public this autumn, inviting local businesses, professionals, neighbours and the wider community to discover the newly renovated Grade II listed building and experience its new life as a destination for work and community.
The first opportunity to explore Temperance House will be at an Open House on Friday 9 October, from 9.30am to 12.30pm. Guests are invited to join the inhouse team for complimentary tea, coffee and pastries while discovering the newly renovated building, taking a guided tour of the Business Suites and co-working spaces, and learning more about the exciting vision for its future.
Whether you are a local business owner, professional, neighbour or simply curious to see what is behind the doors, the Open House offers the chance to experience Temperance House for yourself. Visitors will be able to meet the StudioHIVE team, connect with other local businesses and people, and discover how the building is evolving.
The programme continues on Thursday 12 November, from 7pm to 9pm, with an evening of wine tasting and festive cheer. Hosted by Winscombe business The Wine Shop, the special event will bring together their passion, knowledge and genuine love of wine for an intimate evening in the beautiful surroundings of Temperance House.
Guests will be welcomed with a glass of sparkling wine before enjoying a tutored tasting featuring a carefully selected range of wines chosen with Christmas celebrations and seasonal food in mind. Along the way, guests will discover the stories behind the wines, explore food pairings and pick up ideas to help make their festive table even more special.
Priced at £35 per person, the evening is deliberately informal and intimate, with just 20 places available. It is an opportunity to meet friends, neighbours and fellow wine lovers while discovering something new, whether you are a seasoned wine enthusiast or simply enjoy a great glass of wine.
Jason Collard, managing director of StudioHIVE and the driving force behind Temperance House, said: “Together, these first public events mark an exciting new chapter for Temperance House, opening up the building to the local community and showcasing the opportunities it offers as a place to work, meet, connect and enjoy shared experiences.”
Temperance House is now open for corporate bookings and offers a collection of professionally designed meeting rooms, breakout spaces, kitchen facilities and an outdoor garden suitable for meetings, team-building activities and away days.
The venue, which was previously The Battleaxes pub, is also home to the award-winning StudioHIVE and StudioHIVE Architects teams, whose headquarters are based there.
Places for the Wine and Festive Cheer evening are limited, and guests are encouraged to book early to avoid missing out. The Open House on 9 October is free to attend and provides an ideal opportunity to come along, meet the team and discover Temperance House for yourself.
