Remembering fathers at Westerleigh Group’s crematoria
Westerleigh Group’s crematoria are inviting families to visit them around Father’s Day to take time to remember and reflect on beloved relatives they have lost.
The bereaved near New Forest, North Wiltshire, Sedgemoor, Test Valley, Torbay, Treswithian Downs, Wessex Vale, West Wiltshire and Westerleigh crematoria can also post Father’s Day cards in the crematoria’s memorial post boxes.
Westerleigh Group is one of the UK’s largest independent owners and operators of crematoria and cemeteries, with 41 sites in England, Scotland, and Wales, all set within beautifully landscaped gardens of remembrance which provide peaceful places for people to visit and reflect.
Each crematorium is making its own specific arrangements for Father’s Day, but all of them are offering visitors the opportunity to take quiet moments of remembrance and reflection at their sites, and to put cards in the memorial post boxes.
Some crematoria are hosting memorial services while others are offering visitors the opportunity to write personalised messages and tributes on memory tags, to light a commemorative candle or to decorate a pebble, which can be placed on a loved one’s memorial within the crematoria grounds.
Many sites are offering the families the chance to collect a flower to lay at a memorial or take home.
Westerleigh Group’s Chief Executive Officer, Debbie Smith, said: “Our Father’s Day invitation is open to anyone, whether or not there is a memorial to their father or father figure at any of our crematoria, or where their funeral took place.
“Neither does it matter if someone is recently bereaved, or suffered a loss some time ago, and it makes no difference where they live.
“Father’s Day is one of those annual occasions when a loss can be felt more deeply and we want to ensure people know that they are very welcome to take comfort in paying tribute to their loved ones at our crematoria.”
Coinciding with Father’s Day, a special offer is available until Sunday 6 July 2025 which enables families who purchase a 50-year-lease on a living memorial to receive a complimentary bronze or granite name marker (terms and conditions apply).
This tribute can be dedicated to a father or father figure, as well as to any other loved one people may wish to honour.
