Introducing Elsa: A digital detox escape

Unplugged, the UK’s original digital detox escape, launches its newest cabin - and its first in Cornwall - Elsa, inviting guests to switch off, slow down, and reconnect with themselves and nature.

Tucked into a tree-lined corner of a Cornish estate, Elsa overlooks the rolling hills of Bodmin Moor - one of the UK’s most breathtaking and peaceful landscapes. Completely off-grid, the cabin is surrounded by rich wildlife and unspoiled nature.

As at all of Unplugged’s eco-friendly cabins, guests at Elsa will lock away their phones on arrival in a unique lockbox and swap them for an old-school Nokia, a physical map, a compass, and a Polaroid camera. By spending a minimum of three nights tech-free, guests can enjoy the benefits of a digital detox: better sleep, lower anxiety, improved mood, and sharper focus.

Also new to Unplugged, Elsa is the first cabin to feature a private wood-fired hot tub, supporting the demand for nature-led wellness experiences. Set against the backdrop of rolling farmland and a 'Dark Sky' environment, guests can unwind with front-row views of the stars. The cabin also features an outdoor fire pit, offering cosy, screen-free evenings immersed in nature.

Commenting on the launch of Elsa, Hector Hughes, co-founder of Unplugged, said: "We’re incredibly excited for people to discover this beautiful corner of Cornwall and experience a truly restorative escape. The unique magic of this part of the UK made it the natural choice for our latest cabin. Since our launch, the response has been incredible, and we’re proud to help people improve their relationship with their devices and enhance their overall wellbeing and tackle issues such as burnout which affects so many.”

Elsa is easily reached by car or a short ten minute taxi ride from Bodmin Parkway station. Once there, guests can venture out to explore the surrounding moors, coastal walks, and nearby beaches - or simply stay local and enjoy peaceful woodland trails right from the cabin’s doorstep.

The cabin includes a hot shower, gas hob, kitchen essentials, books, board games, a cassette player with CALM sleep stories, and eco-luxury amenities like Piglet bedding and Dark Arts Coffee. Elsa welcomes dogs, but guests should be aware of the nearby roaming wildlife - including sheep, ponies, a friendly pig, and Highland cows - who share the surroundings.

This launch follows a period of growth for Unplugged, including a 90% occupancy rate in 2025. Elsa joins the brand’s growing network of over 30 cabins across the UK and beyond, with plans to expand this to 60 by 2026.

Elsa digital detox escapes start from £520 for a three- or four-night stay. To find out more and book your escape, visit unplugged.rest/elsa
