Creative Christmas Fun at St Cecilia

Creative Christmas Fun at St Cecilia

Residents at St Cecilia care home in Shepton Mallet have been getting into the festive spirit with a Christmas wreath-making session as part of the home’s seasonal activities programme.

The creative session saw residents at the 17-bed dementia care service, design and decorate their own wreaths, with support from staff and volunteers.

“Activities like wreath-making give residents a chance to be creative and use their hands,” said Tracy Woolfrey, registered manager at St Cecilia.

“Even simple tasks like arranging decorations, weaving things on or glueing pieces together help keep people’s minds active and lift their mood.

“Everyone got involved in their own way, and there was such a warm, festive atmosphere in the room. It was really good fun.”

The wreath making activity is part of the care home’s ongoing commitment to ensuring residents are engaged, active, and connected with the community around them.

St Cecilia is part of a third generation, family-run business, run by White Care Group, which has other homes in Glastonbury and Taunton.
