Power Town Festival Champions Bristol’s Grassroots Talent Ahead of February Event
Power Town Festival is set to shine a spotlight on Bristol’s thriving grassroots music scene when it launches its first-ever edition, with a lineup rooted in local talent, culture and community.
The full-day, family-friendly Festival takes place on Sunday 15 February 2026, at Strange Brew, Bristol, from 1pm to 11pm.
The festival was created to unite and celebrate Bristol’s vibrant multi-cultural community through music, creativity and culture, whilst paying homage to the influences of Africa and the Caribbean culture at the heart of Bristol.
The festival is headlined by Donae’o, one of the most influential voices in UK music, alongside Kenny Allstar of Radio 1Xtra, Kwazi fresh from Glastonbury Festival, and a showcase of Bristol grassroot artists and Power Town’s Artist Development Programme graduates.
One of those artists performing is Marns, a 20-year-old soul singer raised in Bristol, whose journey into music began at an early age. Having grown up immersed in theatre, dance and acting, Marns has since developed into an independent artist with a distinctive and versatile sound.
Drawing influence from soul, jazz and R&B, Marns’ music reflects both classic and contemporary styles, while her ability to adapt across genres highlights her versatility as an emerging artist.
Speaking about performing at the festival, Marns said: “It is really exciting to be performing at Power Town Festival. Bristol events are always a blast and I am looking forward to supporting the amazing lineup.”
Marns joins a strong roster of Bristol-based grassroots artists, including Xyzelle, Olivia Rose, Elijah A.M, Danny A, Kwazi, and D£ST!NY, all of whom contribute to a programme that celebrates the depth, diversity and creativity of the city’s music scene.
Alongside live music, the programme includes a Bristol vs Birmingham DJ clash. The festival is delivered by Power Town CIC, a Global Majority led organisation based in St Paul’s, with a strong focus on turning community talent into professional opportunity.
This event has been made possible thanks to West England Mayoral Combined Authority and public funding from the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
Tickets are £15 for all day or £5 for the daytime only and can be bought via headfirstbristol.co.uk
