Amanda scoops leadership award
Amanda Harrington, Sales and Marketing Director at Bakers Dolphin has won the Sales Leader of the Year Award in the South West Leadership Awards.
Amanda, who completes 40 years with the Weston-super-Mare based coach operators this year, was chosen by a panel of independent business specialists in the awards organised by TheBusinessDesk.com and presented at a glittering ceremony at Bristol Harbour Hotel.
The award recognised the challenges faced in selling coach holidays and tours, recognising Amanda’s work in leading a team which in 2025 sold 403 coach tour holidays in the UK and Europe and 304 Day’s Out including London Shows with coaches leaving from throughout the South West region.
Receiving the award Amanda said: “I’m honestly delighted to have received this award. I would like to say a personal thank you to all my colleagues who are just an amazing bunch of hardworking people who help me achieve awards such as this. Also a big thank you to all our suppliers who work with me to make Bakers Dolphin the success it is today.
“It is also good recognition for the coach industry as the finalists were from many different sectors of business.”
Bakers Dolphin has been in business since 1889 providing transport for people in the South West. Based in Weston-super-Mare it employs 166 people and has a fleet of 90 coaches and minibuses. It’s main operation is providing UK and continental holidays by coach and its familiar blue and yellow vehicles are also the regular transport providers for schools, colleges and other organisations in the region. It is a family-run business with two booking centres (Bristol and Weston) where people can select their dream holidays.
