Bristol Airport’s Drop and Go car park will be cashless from next Monday (12 May). After dropping off passengers, customers can drive straight up to the barrier and pay by card or contactless. Apple and Google Pay are also accepted.
Bristol Airport colleagues will assist customers who are unfamiliar with this method of payment. The automatic number plate recognition works through ANPR vehicle recognition on entry and the car park is ticketless so payments are on exit. The Drop & Go car park is situated next to the terminal building and has five exit barriers.
Cash is still accepted in Short Stay and Pick Up, which also costs £7, and customers can park for 30 minutes. Customers can still pay by cash in the multi-storey car park too. Pay machines are located by the exits in Short Stay and Pick Up and on the ground floor of the multi-storey car park.

“By moving away from cash payments in Drop and Go, it should mean customers spend the minimum amount of time in the car park and can exit promptly, ensuring traffic flow continues to move smoothly.”
The Airport will be opening a new £60m Public Transport Interchange and second multi-storey car park this summer, with the new pedestrian bridge link leading to the terminal forecourt now under construction. The new drop and go car park will relocate here, along with the bus and coach bays, which are increasing from five to 16. This will be one of the region’s largest coach/bus interchanges, enhancing services and accessibility for customers whether arriving or departing. The Drop Off & Pick up car park in the Public Transport Interchange will also be cashless and have eight exit lanes to help ensure good traffic flow.
The project forms part of Bristol Airport’s transformational development plan enabling 12 million passengers a year to use the Airport.
