Tilney Smith & Williamson in Bristol strengthens audit team with appointment of Mark Bishop as partner

Tilney Smith & Williamson, the leading wealth management and professional services group, which is re-branding to Evelyn Partners in the summer, has continued to invest in its audit team by appointing Mark Bishop as an audit partner in its Bristol office.

Mark joins Tilney Smith & Williamson from Grant Thornton, where he spent more than 17 years specialising in working with fast growth and entrepreneurial technology clients and was its head of audit culture.

Mark has experience of working with businesses in both the UK and internationally, having spent time working in the US, and has advised privately owned, private equity backed and listed businesses.

Guy Swarbreck, head of Tilney Smith & Williamson’s audit and assurance department, said: “I am delighted to welcome to Mark to the team. As we prepare to rebrand to Evelyn Partners in the summer, this appointment recognises our commitment to carry on bringing senior talent to the group to provide the best possible support for our clients.

“We continue to see growing interest in our audit services and are hiring outstanding partners like Mark to strengthen our offering. Mark has a great track record working with exciting clients and I look forward to working closely with him as we continue to grow.”

Mark Bishop added: “I’m hugely excited to be joining such a fast-moving business, and one that has a genuinely different approach to both its clients and its people.

“The South West is one of the most dynamic regions in the UK and desperately needs locally delivered services from a strong firm that is solely focused on working with mid-market businesses, backed up by the support of a national group with a consistent agenda.

“I’m hugely privileged to be joining a firm that shares that vision and has the ambition to make it a reality.”
