Bristol hotel donates mattresses to charity

Some vulnerable and tenanted families in Bristol and North Somerset will be able to sleep a little more soundly thanks to a city centre hotel.

The DoubleTree by Hilton Bristol City Centre has given sixty mattresses to Bristol City Council’s social services team, who will ensure that the bedding goes to those who will benefit from them most.

The DoubleTree, which is managed by Focus Hotels, has also sent a number of other beds away to be recycled.

The hotel worked with Bristol Waste Company to organise the donation of the mattresses.

Imran Ali, General Manager of the DoubleTree by Hilton Bristol City Centre, said: “We are in the process of changing all our beds over the next six months, but we thought it would be a shame if the current bedding went to waste.

“It’s nice to know that the mattresses we no longer need will go to families who we know will really benefit from being able to sleep in a little more comfort.

“We’re very pleased to be able to make this gesture to support vulnerable people in our local community.”
